Grief is Heavy

I know I haven't posted much since school started and I guess that is self-explanatory! We don't have internet at home and after being here all day we are usually ready to get home and have some "down time." Our staff has worked beneath a heaviness these past three weeks. One of our staff members' husbands had a massive heart attack the first week of school, had open heart surgery, lingered in a medicated coma for nearly a week, and then stepped across the Jordan for his first glimpse of Glory Land! During this time I can honestly say that I have seen the "family" of God firsthand. Our staff members have shouldered the load of grief right along with our "sister" and I know that a deeper bond will be created among us as a result. The heaviness of grief can manifest itself physically (as it has with 2 of our staff members), emotionally (with all of us) and even spiritually if we allow it. Bro Gene Borders did not even attend our church, yet the heaviness of grief came to church on Sunday morning with those of us who love and work with Sis Christene Borders. But thank God that we can exchange that "spirit of heaviness for a garment of praise!" The Holy Ghost swept in so powerfully and lifted our spirits and our heads. We are moving forward and God has promised a miracle as a result of this "time of stretching" (thank you, Bro Holley, for that post that stuck with me - I'm holding on to it!).
